week 9 thing 23

1. My favorite exercises were flicker, generators and avatars, and utube.
2. This program made me relize how much I need to expand my scope of technology.
3. I was amazed at how many cool things are out there in cyberspace.
4. I think the program would be better if it was presented in a smaller form. Say 10 things at a time insead of 23. Smaller bites are easier to chew. Also podcasts with instructions would be great. So many of the instructions on the sites were not geared to non computer people. So it became frustrating.
5. I would do another session if it was offered.
6. It was very cool and a great experience. I found out just how much I didn't know.

week 9 thing 22

I have downloaded from the earth to the moon by j verne from the gutenburg site. I didn't find either the audio book or the text version satisfying. I guess I'm just old fashion. I like to hold a real book. Put it down when I want and come back later and pick it up. The possibilities are great for others. I just don't like it for myself.

week9 thing 21

Well I have been to podcastalley, podcast.net and yahoo podcasts and played around. I am sure these are great as training tools when used for that purpose. I don't think many do use this technology for training though. It seems its used for stating opinion. And very boring ones at that. The Merlin link was interesting, Recorded storytimes, and pods to teach new concepts would be great.I did add the RSS feed to my bloglines account.

Week 9 thing 20

posting stuff from other places is difficult. Lots of steps and not always in the same order or places.

week 8 thing 19

I have looked at a few of the sites and I am un impressed. Most of these sites I would never use. The application sites are useful, the wiki sites I can see use possiblities but the rest, not intrested. I tried B-Green and itwas mostly a way to sell trees. Pandora was OK. Its a free music site.

Week 8 Thing 18

Hi All,

This looks like a very cool set of applications that would be perfect for library users. They could use them, open them, and send them from anywhere without saving them to our computers. That is a constant problem for us and this solves it nicely. They look and perform just like the high priced spread too. A win win deal for all.

Week 7 Thing 16 & 17

WIKI this, WIKI that, WIKI WIKI goes my cat.
I can see the pracital uses for WIKIs in library structure. Committees and departments and work groups could all participate and work together this way with never having to travel. I would like to set one up for the branch. As for the community, I think that might be just a little complicated. It would be great to hear from our customer base but I'm a control freak and I see constant ways this could get out of control.
I had to get help from Bryan McDonald to post anything to the Sandbox wiki. Thank goodness he was here I was going crazy trying to figure it out.
